Caspian Diabesity Expo
A free public day on diabetes and obesity, run with the Telangana chapter of RSSDI. Anybody can walk in. There is no ticket at the door for the general public, no registration fee for screening, and a meal is provided.
The screening is not a token finger prick. Depending on the station, it includes blood glucose, lipid profile, liver and kidney function, TSH, vitamin D, ECG, retinal examination, neuropathy testing, FibroScan for the liver, and full body measurements. Doctors sit with people and explain what the numbers mean.
Alongside the screening there are sessions on diabetes reversal, obesity treatment, adult vaccination, foot care, meal planning and exercise, plus stalls from partner organisations.

Caspian Diabetes Talks
Most people with diabetes have been told to control their sugar. Very few have been told what the disease does to the eye, the kidney, the nerve and the foot, or what the early signs of each one feel like.
These sessions do that, in the language the audience actually speaks, with screening on the same day so the talk does not end in good intentions. They run through the year for community groups, workplaces, residents' associations and congregations.

Patient support
OWN, the Obesity Warriors Network
Weight treatment fails in the gap between appointments. OWN is a moderated group for patients on GLP-1 treatment, where the questions that come up at eleven at night get a sensible answer instead of a search engine.

- Support from other people at the same stage of treatment
- Practical content on side effects, food, dosing days and plateaus
Membership is limited to Caspian Healthcare patients currently on GLP-1 treatment, because the guidance given inside the group assumes a doctor is already following that person. It is not a substitute for a consultation, and no prescriptions are issued in the group.

For doctors
CASPIAN Certificate in Obesity Medicine
Obesity is now treatable with medicine, and most doctors qualified before that was true. The certificate course exists so that a physician in practice can learn to assess and treat obesity properly, with the evidence set out and the commercial noise left outside.
The Foundation hosts the course. Tuition funds the teaching. No pharmaceutical company sponsors the content or the faculty.
