Money

How donations are handled

Collection

Online donations are processed by Razorpay and settle directly into the Foundation's own bank account, which is separate from every other Caspian entity. We never see or store your card or banking details.

Receipting

Every donation gets a receipt showing the amount, the date, the Foundation's PAN and the 80G approval number. Donations are reported in the Foundation's annual statement of donations to the Income Tax Department.

Application of funds

Funds are applied to the objects of the trust: screening, education, relief and training. Trustees draw nothing. Accounts are audited annually and returns are filed.

What we will not do

  • We do not let a funder decide clinical content, treatment recommendations or what a screening report says.
  • We do not publish impact numbers we cannot evidence. Where a figure is not audited, we say so or we leave it out.
  • We do not pass a donor's personal details to any sponsor, partner or pharmaceutical company.
  • We do not solicit donations by telephone or by anyone appearing at your door. If someone claims to collect for us in person, verify by calling the number on this site.

Common questions

Is my donation tax deductible?

Yes. The Foundation holds 80G approval, URN AADTC2568A24HY01, valid for assessment years 2024-25 to 2028-29. The deduction available to you depends on your own tax position, so check with your tax adviser.

Why do you ask for my PAN?

So the donation can be reported against you in the Foundation's annual statement of donations. That is what allows the deduction to appear in your own tax records. Giving your PAN is optional, but without it the deduction cannot be reported.

Can I give towards one specific programme?

Yes. Tell us when you donate, or write to us, and the amount will be applied to that programme.

Can I see the accounts?

Donors, partners and auditors can request the audited statements for any completed financial year by writing to us.

Are you registered for corporate CSR funding?

Companies wishing to route CSR spending to the Foundation should write to us first so we can confirm the current position on CSR registration and give you the correct documents for your board's records. We would rather tell you than let you assume.

Checked us out? Then here is the part that matters.

A thousand rupees screens one person completely and puts a doctor in front of them to explain the result.
